Media Minds is a highly professional media consultancy
specialising in media training. We also offer
crisis management training and
communications consultancy of a problem-solving
kind. There is no project too small or - alternatively - too complex
for us to tackle.
A truly unique and skilful team dedicated to developing and
making each individual into a powerful presenter. We are
always professional, but also fun, and aim to make the
process an enjoyable experience! Communications consultancy is led
by Judith Byrne.

Judith Byrne MA
MEd FRSA, Principal Consultant, a founder of
Media Minds and now its MD. Frequently interviewed on national TV
and radio, as Deputy Chief Executive and spokesperson for a
government body. Consultant in strategic communications since 1996,
oversees strategic development of the company and is available for
one to one executive strand and for appointment panels.
Donald
MacCormick, Media Consultant, is one of the UK’s best
known political interviewers, with a uniquely witty and urbane
style. He was an anchor of BBC2 Newsnight before Jeremy Paxman, and
also fronted Question Time and the Money Programme. Available for
media training and conference chairing.
John
Getgood, Media and Communications Consultant, brings to all
his Media Minds work the spontaneity and inventiveness of live
television. Starting in Local Radio he produced and presented the
morning new sequence and on Radio 4 was responsible for the daily
consumer show You and Yours. Output Editor on BBC TV’s
Breakfast Time, Deputy Editor on Watchdog and
Editor of That’s Life. Responsible for Kilroy and
was for 5 years in charge of the BBC’s annual appeal programme
Children in Need. Media skills training, speechwriting,
production of press releases and crisis communication.

Diana Madill, Media and Communications
Consultant, is a familiar Radio 4 voice and regularly
presents You and Yours. She has also fronted PM,
Woman’s Hour, Midweek and the Learning Curve.
Television presentation includes Westminster Live on BBC2, budgets
and elections and Despatch Box, Talkback and BBC Six
O’Clock news. Media training and communications
support.
Robin Clifford OBE, FCMI,
MCIPR, Crisis Management Consultant is
the Communications Director for AEGIS, a London based private
risk management consultancy. As a Colonel in the British Army
he ran NATO’s media operations in Kosovo in 1999 and the UK’s
media operations in Afghanistan and Iraq from 2001 to 2003.
Before retiring early in 2005 he was responsible for commercial
protection and exploitation of the Army’s reputation and intellectual
property. Crisis management and crisis communication, media
training, communications support.

Sheena McDonald, Media Consultant, has
worked in radio and television news and current affairs for over
twenty years. She specialises in international affairs, politics,
arts and religion, and also makes documentaries, debate-programmes
and series. She currently appears on BBC News 24, BBC Radio
4 (The World Tonight and Talking Politics) amongst
other commitments. Media training, conference chairing.

Liz Fawcett, Policy Consultant, worked for
many years as a reporter and correspondent for the BBC. She has run
two very successful postgraduate courses in journalism and political
communication, and also has campaigning experience. Communications
support.
Rick Thompson, Policy Consultant,
was the BBC’s award-winning Foreign Editor in charge of coverage
of the Falklands War and is an experienced strategic planner
and policy-maker for the BBC. Editor of the Nine O’Clock news
and Head of News and Local programmes for Pebble Mill, then
head of newsgathering for the BBC World Service. Now an adviser
to the European Commission on broadcasting and Visiting Professor
at the University of Central England. Crisis management and
communications support.
A number of current broadcasters and journalists are also
members of the Media Minds team.
